Eavesdropping

I'm a terrible eavesdropper. The other day I sat on the third floor of the library studying with Bria for my advertising test. Down the table, a girl sat down while retrieving books, calculator, and computer from her bag. She looked a little timid, and also looked as if she had spent an hour getting ready for her study session. She had on a purple blouse, flashy earrings, and some very bright makeup. Soon after, a guy approached her saying "You have no idea how much I appreciate you doing this. You're a lifesaver, really!" He gave her a hug, she smiled and they sat down. The guy proceeded to explain to her all of the homework he had in his chemistry class, and about his test the following day that he was clearly not prepared for. He handed her his homework assignment and as she looked over it, he received a phone call. It was another girl. It went something like this: "Hey baby! I miss you so much! Awe, you know I love you. I haven't seen you forever. So when are you going to stop by? No I'm with my FHE sister right now and she's doing my homework. She's awesome..." The conversation lasted about 10 minutes while the girls smile seemed to falter.

When he finally hung the phone up, he would look at the homework and read off the work she had just done, pretending he knew was she was doing.

For the next 2 hours, Bria and I listened to this guy receive 3 more phone calls, and a visit from another girl. The girl continued to do her homework, although Bria and I both wanted to tell her just to walk away. She obviously liked the guy, but was beginning to look livid by the end of her "study date". Finally 5 o'clock rolled around and this guy said that he had to go, but if she could finish up his assignment, and meet up with him the next day to explain the answers before his test, he would be "most appreciative". He walked out with another girl while his poor FHE sister put all her books back in her bag, and got up to leave the library. What a productive day.

You can tell that I studied a lot for my test.

Nice. He probably had to leave to prepare his 5th Sunday priesthood lesson on how to use the priesthood.
